First things first. Whenever you go to a thrift store, flea market, or yard sale, look for craft supplies. Many people who love to craft try new crafts and get bored or simply want to clean out their supplies from time to time. These supplies usually end up at thrift stores or in yard sales and can be a great way to score supplies for very little money.

If you have big name craft stores in your area, sign up for the newsletters. You will often receive special coupons through email. It also pays to sign up for newsletters for online stores. You’ll get codes that will help you save on supplies, shipping, or both. Some even offer a special discount just for signing up.

  1. Hit After Holiday Sales

The absolute best time of the year to find craft supplies on sale is after the holidays. You can find so many great deals on craft kits and supplies that have a holiday theme. The best time to shop is after Christmas. Not only do stores have discounts on holiday craft supplies, but this is when they’ll start getting rid of old stock as well.

At any given time you can find great discounts on the clearance racks. It might fabric, craft kits, or even yarn. You never know what you’re going to find and it can be a great way to try new crafts without investing a lot of money.

Last, but not least, go online and find swap groups. For example, Freecycle is a group available in most cities. In this group, people list items they want to give away. You can also make a post stating that you’re in search of craft supplies. There are also swap groups on Facebook.

If you want to keep crafting, but don’t want to pay the high prices for supplies, keep your eyes open. There are so many places where you can find great discounts. It might be at a yard sale or even in a swap group.
